PennyWise is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your financial data stays on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.
Data We Collect
Data Stored Locally (On Your Device Only)
The following data is stored only on your device and is never transmitted to us:
- Transaction records (amount, category, notes, date)
- App preferences (currency, sound settings, notification preferences)
This data is stored in your device's local storage and can be deleted at any time through the app's "Clear All Data" feature in Settings.
Analytics & Crash Reporting
We use the following third-party services to improve app stability and understand general usage patterns:
Firebase Analytics (Google)
- Collects anonymous usage data (e.g., which screens are viewed, app opens)
- Does NOT collect your financial transaction data
- Google Privacy Policy
Firebase Crashlytics (Google)
- Collects crash reports to help us fix bugs
- May include device information (model, OS version)
- Does NOT collect your financial transaction data

- Personal information (name, email, phone number)
- Bank account or card details
- Location data
- Your transaction data (amounts, categories, notes)
Data Storage & Security
- All financial data is stored locally on your device
- No account or sign-up is required
- No cloud sync or backup to external servers
- Your data never leaves your device
Data Deletion
You can delete all your data at any time:
- Open PennyWise
- Go to Settings
- Tap "Clear All Data"
Uninstalling the app will also remove all locally stored data.
